The economic development program provides training for vulnerable communities so they can lift themselves out of poverty and be able to sustain their families . Generally, the program focus on women and girls who have been affected by gender-based violence and other forms of social injustice. In addidition to education and mentorship, we provide small cash grants that will allow them launch sustanable and profitable income generating activities in the community.
The US Embassy in Bujumbura-Burundi was the first donor to award a start-up grant to Dreaming for Change to provide social and economic support for the less advantaged, especially rural women and their families. D4C aspires a community, a country, a noation that can lift itself out of poverty and be able to survive and thrive.
most of our beneficiaries come from rural areas and they live below $1.25 a day, we can’t give them loans but after the business training, we give them a small capital seed that can be turned into a small business
