The US Embassy in Burundi is working with Dreaming for Change to create and fund an American Shelf/Corner on the D4C site in Butanuka. The US Department of State operates American Corners in most countries around the world. They are like little libraries to help local people learn about America, access American educational opportunities, access computer and Internet facilities, learn English, etc. It is going to be the first American Shelf/Corner located in rural village; an amazing space that the people of Butanuka (Mpanda-Bubanza Province), especially young girls and boys will use to enrich their minds, grow their ideas, and build a better community.
