Agriculture and food security

Dreaming for Change empowers rural families to grow nutritious food, improve diets, and strengthen livelihoods. With support from Springhouse Farm in Boone, NC, we established a school farm that trains women and families in sustainable agriculture and the use of organic fertilizer. Led by our agronomist, the farming team oversees the school farm and kitchen garden program by helping communities fight malnutrition and build long-term food security

Kitchen Gardens

Our kitchen gardens program supports families in growing their own nutritious vegetables at home. Each participating household is guided to establish a durable garden with diverse crops, improving daily access to fresh and healthy food. The initiative is expanding steadily, helping more families fight malnutrition and build healthier futures.

Farming School

Each year, our community farming school recruits households to participate in a one-year training program in modern agriculture. Families learn practical skills in crop management, composting, soil improvement, seed storage, and sustainable farming methods. The program equips participants to increase food production, improve family nutrition, and build more resilient livelihoods.
