Our Mission
Dreaming for Change’s mission is to promote human dignity and social development by expanding access to education, health, protection services, agriculture, and financial well-being. We work with children, youth, families, and entire communities across Burundi to achieve positive and lasting transformation.
Our Vision
We envision healthy, peaceful, and educated communities in Burundi where every child and young person can learn, every family can live in good health and dignity, and every community can shape its own sustainable future.
Our founder & History
Burundian Janvier Manirakiza participated in the Mandela Washington Fellowship for young African leaders during the summer of 2017. His fellowship took place in Boone, NC at Appalachian State University, where he formulated a plan to bring meaningful change to the well-being of his people. Janvier believed that with the right educational and developmental opportunities he could help transform lives victimized by violence and persistent poverty to a future of peace, health, community healing, and growing prosperity.
